Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, the Catholic Church welcomes thousands of new Catholics into the Catholic faith. Parishes in the United States welcome these new Catholics through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

Holy Spirit Catholic Community welcomes (first names of this year's catechumens) to the Catholic Church and to our parish: Bryan, Frances, Wendy, Alejandra, and Joshua.

RCIA is a process for people age 18 and older, to learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ as the Catholic Church has handed them on and put these teachings into practice by living as part of the Catholic community, serving others and praying.

The RCIA process is for baptized Catholics who have never received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist so that they may come into full communion with the Catholic Faith. RCIA is also for adults who have never been baptized in any faith; and for those who were baptized into another Christian faith.
