Respect Life Ministry
What does this ministry/group do?
We strive to promote the Gospel of Life within our parish community and beyond, and to implement the Catholic Bishop’s Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities, which focuses on Education, Prayer & Worship, Pastoral Care and Public Policy.
When do they meet/serve?
Monthly meetings 3rd Wednesday of each month (Aug-May); prayer vigil outside Planned Parenthood 3rd Thursday of each month; other events throughout the year.
Who is invited to participate?
Teens and adults at meetings and vigil; younger children’s participation at church events and help with fundraisers always welcome.
What volunteer opportunities are there?
Prayer support outside Planned Parenthood in Aurora; participation in annual baby bottle drive fundraiser and other fundraisers; Holy Hours and Rosaries for Life.
What is the time commitment?
2 hour min./month
What skills are required?
Nothing specific.
Is any training required? If so, what does that look like?
No formal training, but a commitment to learn more about our Church’s teaching on the sanctity of human life, to stay informed on public policy and active as an advocate for life.
