Children's Choir is a youth choral program for students in grades 1-12. Its main purpose is to form our youth in the musical and liturgical arts. The choir will sing at the 9:30am Mass on the 2nd Sunday of the month with some deviations. Rehearsals will be broken down into two age groups: Grades 1-3 will rehearse on Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 5:10pm, while grades 4-12 will rehearse on Wednesdays from 5:15pm – 6:00pm.
The Adult Choir consists of parishioners whose musical abilities range from the simple carrying of a tune to those with accomplished music-reading and singing skills. The choir is thus an image of the Church itself, in which there are many different gifts which come from and serve the Spirit of God. Though essentially "traditional," they sing a wide range of music from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. Choir members continually build their musical and vocal skills, learning from each other in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm - 9:00pm (with other seasonal/sectional rehearsals scheduled on an as-needed basis), and sing on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, occasional Holy Day liturgies, and special programs, generally from September through May. Because of the amount of music the choir must prepare, consistent attendance is necessary and expected.
